Design contract for removing and replacing existing sidewalk with a wider precast sidewalk deck panel system to increase sidewalk width and accommodate bicycle traffic. Other rehabilitation strategies include concrete deck replacement, expansion joint replacement, bridge rail replacement, full clean and paint and lighting replacement. After careful review of rehabilitation strategies, the Owner has decided on a full-width concrete deck and sidewalk replacement project utilizing precast deck panel system and other ABC techniques.
CXC is providing Constructability Review, Cost Estimating and Construction Scheduling to T.Y. Lin International, Inc. as they develop PS&E documents for the rehabilitation of the Theodore Roosevelt Bridge in Washington, DC for the District DOT. Work will include extensive substructure retrofits, bearing replacement, steel repairs and complete deck replacement utilizing precast deck panels. Work will also include reconstruction of sidewalk outrigger system to facilitate sidewalk/bikeway widening.
